Cindy: Friday Fictioneers 100 word story challenge

As Cindy looked out of the castle she knew what she needed to do.

She would go and return her heart to the only boy that was ever true.

Although Billy hadn’t a dollar to his name.

She jumped on one of the maids bicycles and rode off in the rain.

When she got to Billy’s he was so happy that she no longer felt afraid.

Billy the poor beggar boy would be the next king after that day.

The Royal Family would have to accept him now, there was no other way.

They ran off and eloped that very day.

Jemma: Friday Fictioneers 100 word story challenge

Jemma stared out into the morning fog and just absorbed the beauty that was Calabash Station.

She’d gone into the west paddock early that morning looking for a stray sheep. Billy had left the gate open again. That irresistible idiot Billy, Jemma really wasn’t sure what she was going to do with him.

As the fog began to recede she saw the sheep grazing below.

Jemma and her horse Pinto returned the sheep to its paddock and securely shut the gate.

Jemma looked at her watch and smiled. She still had enough time to go and have breakfast with Billy.

Norma: Friday Fictioneers 100 word story challenge

The farmer had left the gate open.

Norma felt such extreme excitement at this realisation that the poor old ewe nearly choked on the grass she was eating.

Norma looked around to make sure she wasn’t being watched and then made for the gate like a slow and wobbly bat outta hell.

Norma trotted as fast as she could, but the Farmer was pulling up his truck and throwing her in the back before she had a chance to blink.

The Farmer put Norma back in the paddock and locked the gate.

Norma sat defeated, dreaming of her almost escape.

Sandy: Friday Fictioneers 100 word story challenge

Sandy snuck up the stairs; you could tell she was shaking as the torches beam bounced all over the place. She had heard the sound of a child’s laughter upstairs, right before the power had gone out.

Sandy was really regretting moving to Broken Hill.

Her heart was hammering and she gave a little yelp when she heard the laughter again. A small near translucent snowy figure floated right past her and through the front door. As soon as it was gone the power came back on.

Sandy made the decision right then that she was moving back to Charlestown.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Selfie

When I hear or read the term ‘Selfie’ I immediately think of drunk young women taking photos in pub toilets with their girlfriends or little teenagers dressed like underage prostitutes taking photos of themselves in their bathroom mirrors or even muscle bound men wanting to so off their guns.

So it’s was nice to see some more artististic versions like the photo given as an example for this weeks challenge (Link Bellow).

I hate my photo being taken and my form of a selfie is more like this, me just being silly >>IMG_5724

I’ve had to learn to get over my photophobia though as i’m always taking selfies with my son these days. So here is a Self Portrait I just took, I really couldn’t think of anything very artistic to do with it, I don’t have any interesting reflective surfaces etc around me at the moment.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Family

Even though i’m an only child, if you add up all my Aunties, Uncles and Cousins I have a fairly large family, but for this weeks photos i decided to go with a series of recent shots i took of My Dad, My Son & My Grandfather.

These photos were taken in one of my Grandfather’s bird aviaries (Both my Father and Grandfather breed Zebra Finches). This was the first time Riley had met his Great Grandfather as the last time i saw him i was still pregnant. It was Norm’s 87th birthday!! Riley wouldn’t cooperate in the photos and give me a smile, but they all seemed pretty impressed with each other :-).
