Bookish Babble Y15.W1

I’m so sporadic with posting on my blog; with no real regularity to my reviews and I can be a little slack in my partaking of Top Ten Tuesday and Friday Fictioneers. I want a permanent every week piece I can actually keep up for the long term.

Bookish Babble is a post I’m going to do every Sunday – It’ll be my version of going to church – I intend to share book related quotes, facts, jokes and ecards that I find and like.

I know there are a fair few bloggers out there that do a similar thing, Friday funnies that are book related etc. I devour so much bookish content from my different social media platforms and by doing this Bookish Babble post I now have a legitimate reason to spend so long trolling the internet :-).

So I give to you:babble3I’m having a Darcy day today!0281dda1be966294090f9d43875740f2mr-darcy

Such a beautiful man and my favorite Darcy.

be lizzie

Until next time 🙂 Enjoy your shelves :-).

20150517_123826

1) Percy Jackson  – Is he as adorable in his late thirty’s? Did he marry Annabeth and live happily ever after in New Rome? (Percy Jackson and the Olympians series & The Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan).

2 & 3-ish) Mr Darcy and all those Bennett sisters – Did Mary and Kitty ever find a man? Did Lydia ever grow up? Did Lizzy and Jane live happily ever after with their wealthy men? (Pride and Prejudiced by Jane Austen).

4) Albert – Did he find the promise land, old Australia? Did he find where his heart and soul belonged? What happened to that wonderful platypus!!!! (Albert of Adelaide by Howard L. Anderson).

5) TJ – What adventures and mischief did he get into once he parted ways with Albert? (Albert of Adelaide by Howard L. Anderson).

6 & 7) Wanda and Melanie – What became of their lives and loves? How did the earth hold up? Did the humans take over again? (The Host by Stephenie Meyer) on closer look at this it seem that Meyer was going to turn it into a trilogy, but back when it came out and I read it in 2008 it was a one off as far as I know??

8) Seth – I loved that little wolf boy, what ever happened to him and his sister? (The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer).

9) All the Characters in We all looked up – Did the meteor kill them all? Did some of the earth survive? (We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach).

10) Luna Lovegood – What ever happened to her? Did she get happily ever after with kids? Did she continue the Quibbler for her father or did she get herself some other magical profession (The Harry Potter phenomenon by J.K. Rowling).

Mr Darcy’s Diary

Mr Darcy’s Diary by Amanda Grange Monday 9th September

Goodreads Synopsis:

“”I left London today and met Bingley at Netherfield Park. I had forgotten what good company he is; always ready to be pleased and always cheerful. After my difficult summer, it is good to be with him again. …””

The only place Darcy could share his innermost feelings was in the private pages of his diary…

Torn between his sense of duty to his family name and his growing passion for Elizabeth Bennet, all he can do is struggle not to fall in love.

Mr. Darcy’s Diary presents the story of the unlikely courtship of Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy from Darcy’s point of view. This graceful imagining and sequel to Pride and Prejudice explains Darcy’s moodiness and the difficulties of his reluctant relationship as he struggles to avoid falling in love with Miss Bennet. Though seemingly stiff and stubborn at times, Darcy’s words prove him also to be quite devoted and endearing – qualities that eventually win over Miss Bennet’s heart. This continuation of a classic romantic novel is charming and elegant, much like Darcy himself.

My Thoughts:

I reread Pride and Prejudice before I read this. I shut the cover of one and opened the other. I wanted to have the original fresh in my mind as devoured this a fantastic addition to the many sequels penned by Austen Fans.

All the things I love in the original were there and it was rather enjoyable being in Mr Darcy’s head.

There was nothing Grange’s Darcy did or said that I doubt Austen’s would have. I did for the most part feel I was still reading Austen. I’m not sure if Austen would have developed the Anne De Bourgh character the way Grange did, but that is of little concern as the book on a whole was wonderful and I’d say like the original I will read it again and again, anything to get to watch Darcy alive in my mind.

I feel the Goodreads synopsis is explanation enough for me to need to say no more.

Four out of Five Stars.

Books I’ve Read Recently

I’ve decided to create a section on my blog ‘’Books I’ve read recently’’ dedicated to the books I read.

I love to read, but can never seem to find the time, especially now with being back a work part time and a mum to a five month old.

I am really bad at time delegation at home, fine at work, but I get home and all my plans go to shit.

So if you’re interested in any of the books below, stick around. If you’ve read any of them and would care to give me your thoughts on them that would be great, leave me a comment or if you’ve got any books you really love and would like to share, I’d love to hear about them.

So the list of books I’m going to start with:

“Second Son” a Jack Reacher short story – Lee Child

Albert of Adelaide – Howard L Anderson (reading this again because it’s awesome!)

Pet Rescue’s Amazing Dog Stories

Bad Luck and Trouble (11th of 18 Reacher Novels) – Lee Child

Mop Stroud, A life in two acts with many scenes – Betty Stroud

Shadows of The Realm, Book 1 of the circle of Talia – Dionne Lister

A Time of Darkness, Book 2 of the circle of Talia – Dionne Lister (I’ve been holding off reading these two books as there’s a third on the way and I know once I’ve read the first two I’ll be hanging out for the third)

Close Call: A Doris and Jemma Vadgeventure – Eloise March

The Killing Floor (1st of 18 Reacher Novels) – Lee Child

Bitter Greens – Kate Forsyth

Die Trying (2nd of 18 Reacher Novels) – Lee Child

Initiate – Tara Maya (This is another long series, so I am scared I’ll fall in love and want them all)

The Salmon of Doubt – Douglas Adams

Casting Shadows Everywhere – L.T. Vargus

Pride & Prejudice – Jane Austen (Reading again >> before reading) >>

Mr Darcy’s Diary – Amanda Grange  (and >>)

Longbourn – Jo Baker

Cloud Atlas – David Mitchell

Water for the elephants – Sara Gruen

Hmmmm does the randomness of the list say anything about me lol.

I’ve written these down now,

I’ve said I’ll read them,

So I have to,

Right?

YES RIGHT!!!

Give it a few weeks and the list will probably double, especially since I’ll still have another nine Reacher novels sitting on my book shelf waiting and another 75 eBooks on my tablet WAITING, as well as I really miss Ron, Hermione, Harry, Hagrid and Dobby and need to visit Hogwarts again soon.
