Writing Update

I’m currently in the process of finalizing my second poetry eBook ‘The World Around Me’. I’m also in the process of creating a Tree Book that merges my two eBook collections together, but I’m struggling to come up with a name I’m happy with so that makes it a bit hard to go forward with any art work LOL. I will / must have these two books published before July, as In July I’ll be starting studying for a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety and will be flat out trying to tackle that as fast as possible. Once I’ve got my WH&S certification I intend to focus on my fiction writing. I’ve got a whole world that has been floating around in my head since I was a little girl and I’m determined to get it out (or die trying). I’ve also got a short story and two flash fiction pieces that I really enjoyed writing and I want to see if I can extend them with the possibility of turning them into Novellas.

Shining your light!

Sad but true – I find it easier to share my writing with strangers rather than family!

Sadly, this week I had news of another subscriber who has passed away. A wonderful lady who will be sadly missed by her family and I know I will miss her cheery letters as well as her submissions.

A member of her family rang to tell me and told me how surprised they’d been to find a hundred or more poems she’d written as well as copies of Positive Words. They didn’t know she’d been writing. I am sure they will enjoy reading them all but, sadly, won’t be able to tell her how much they enjoy them or how proud they are of her.

Many writers tell me their families are not interested in their work (some even quite scornful!!) and others keep their writing a secret thinking it’s not important.

Shine your light! Some will scorn but others will be amazed at your talent 🙂

Finished it!!

So I have finally finished typing up the big box of poetry that I’ve had piling up for the last ten years, oh boy that an emotional trip down memory lane it has been.

So to celebrate I thought I would share one with you all:

I can feel your warmth

I can feel your naked body pressed against mine

As I lose all sense of time

I feel your breath

And your lips

On the back of my neck

I turn to stroke your chest

But you’re not there

I’m alone in my bed

All these feelings are in my head

I long to feel your soft lips pressing against mine

Is loving you really such a crime

As the sunrise draws closer

I quickly try to regain my composure

If I was stronger I might be able to get some closure

But for now I’m just a prisoner of time
